my father is thinking about scrapping his 3000GT and putting the engine in my neon. now there is somthing new huh?

have fun making it work..going to take alot of time and work..and im not say it can or cant be done, i just know its going to be hard. i know ive never seen a 3.0 neon...and its about time your dad junks the POS.

If you have access to enough welding and fabrication skill to accomplish such a swap, please do something better with said skill (like make the car RWD).

Pretty sure 3.0 V6 1st gen has already been done, it was supercharged even, very rough/redneck.

I wouldn't waste your time.

Yea, its been done. It was a 3.0L Caravan engine (Mitsu) with a supercharger, and it did look ghetto.

I don't think it would be worth the hassle. A 2.4 turbo would be a much better swap.

Many have speculated. Few have been done. None (that I know of) have been done well. It will be different, expensive, and slow considering the time and money that would be needed. If that's what you want to do, good luck. I'd rather go faster, cheaper, and have a proven set-up. Just my two cents.

Based on some of your previous posts, please do a video log of the entire process. It should be hilarious. :lol:

on 2gn, his dad's 3000gt (or dodge stealth, he doesnt know the difference) is a vr4 with a stage 2 setup.

could you explain what a stage 2 setup is?
98 Sport IBP, 2.4 swap, SRT4 internals/turbo, solid rear bobble, MS-I V3.0, 3" DP, 2.5" IC piping
