Post by 2fastneon » Sat Nov 03, 2007 7:32 pm

what is involved with this and can i use the stock computer.
from what i understand its just a lil bit of swaping and switching sensors around its gonna go in a 98 r/t if its not too complicated, im trying not to run a stand alone if possible

As long as it's a pre-2003 engine, it should work fine. Only wires you have to change are the coil pack wires, or you could just put the spark plug wires in the wrong holes like I did to make it run.

dont you have to change the fuel injector wires around something like 1>2 2>3 3>4 4>1 ??? and do i just need the passenger side mount i heard you need more than that, my plan was to get srt4 pistons and rods seeing how they're only like 300 for a set, new rings and rod bearings, head gasket, head bolts, water pump, timing belt, and throw it in. it all sounds a little complicated but i think i can manage it with a little help

When I put the 2.0 SOHC in to replace the 2.4, only thing I changed was spark plug wires in the wrong holes, and the side motor mount. You can swap the injectors so they fire at the "right time" since Neons are sequential injection, but it's not a huge deal anyways.

www.rs-autosport.com

Sell fully built ones, otherwise

www.glensgarage.com

sells non-built ones. Save lots of money if you like to solder.

pretty much. with the ms you also have full control over spark too so you wont detonate.. i wired up mine in my car... i also did a safc in mine too. most of the wires used in a safc install are used in ms too cept coil injectors and crank. it was very simple.

You don't *need* to swap the injector wires, it'll still run fine. It'll just throw off the sequential injection part a bit but not a huge problem. At higher rpms and load, the injectors are open longer than the intake valves so it doesn't matter as much anyways.
