Slight rod play...

Post by APN » Wed Oct 03, 2007 8:30 am

I guess that's how I would describe it... Is it normal for the rod, where it's connected to the crank, to be able to move slightly left to right, I do mean slightly, but I'm wondering if that's normal or if it could be a bad bearing.

Thanks for your help :)

I'm not to sure what exactly you're describing, but it sounds like the clearance from the side of the rod to the side of the journal. There has to be some clearance there, and there is a spec for it. You measure it with a feeler guage. I don't remember what the range is.
