yea it was like 4 grand for the labor and 4 for the parts because im converting from auto to a manual and wiring up the srt-4 gauge cluster thats why the labor is so high.. i dont have a garage big enough to do the swap in and i dont trust leaving my car at my job.. im a mechanic so i could do the swap with some help but i just dont have the time or patience to worry with it...

you're a mechanic and you're gonna let yourself be raped like that? do it over the course of a couple months ...if you have a garage at all, its big enough, find something else to drive for awhile is all

its not a weekend job by any means unless you have everything(and I do mean everything) to begin with...if you are missing even one part, it will most likely be a part the dealer has to order and it'll be three days, etc etc, and thats using SRT electronics...if you go standalone you might as well add a whole week to get everything running right...assuming you already have fuses and relays and all that type of crap worked out, the first time I swapped an SRT engine into a first gen it took me a good month of weekends...I was using MS and EDIS-4 crap, the second time around it was MS with the NGC stuff...took me about the same amount of time, with the SRT electronics I guess I could do it all in a weekend...if I had all the parts...but I wouldnt count on being able to drive it to work monday if you know what I mean

Installing the stuff is a weekend job, tuning it will take longer. You gotta worry about cold startup, warmup enrichment, etc. Not what I'm looking forward to playing with when my wideband gets here.

we had a hard enough time finding a tranny for my car because dodge discontinued the tranny for a first gen i got one with 80,000 miles on it from a junk yard. but like i said i just dont have the patience to work on my neon id rather pay someone to do the swap if i was rebuilding the motor, thats a different story id do that, because it dont involve alot of wiring i hate doing wiring

Yeah I've bought at least 15 of them, paid no more than $200 for each.
