Tie-rod ends

Did you buy a part and think it was awesome, or did you think it was a piece of crap? Let everyone know here so we know not to buy the same product.

Tie-rod ends

Post by jeremyhsv1gn » Thu Sep 15, 2011 1:04 pm

I have noticed the tie-rod ends on my 98 rt are completely different than the ones you get from Advance/O'Reilly, they fit but are 1/2 inch shorter. Anyone know why?

It's not the fall that hurts, it's the sudden stop at the bottom!

Well I currently work for Advance, and even in the books it shows this one part number, it works but I just did not get why it would change so much.

They are factory stamped, lol I have noticed little stuff they have changed for instance the new fuel pump I put in it had a spade for a ground terminal and the factory didn't. Amazing car but pain in the ass when working on it

I haven't found my car a pain in the ass while working on it. Mine has that ground terminal already on it and it hasn't had a fuel pump swap. Try looking for another set of tie rods. The shorter ones can't be good

I get a discount from the dealer on my parts, so I just go to the dealer.

For parts that stores don't carry, yeah Dealer or Junk yard.
Other than that, unless it's a 50%+ Discount, it's still cheaper and mor efficient to go to the parts store.

$300 for Shift cables.
$59 for a factory "neon" trunk emblem.

Fuck the dealer lol

Modern has them for 200, and I would pay a little less than that

$14 at the junk yard. Not much more to modify them.
