Don't you have to cut the stock tach wire in order for an aftermarket tach to work?
I did with my 5" Autometer Monster Tach.

I'm new here, but have been on the .org for 4 years now and have owned a 1st gen neon since 97. My first neon was a 96 SOHC Highline Sedan, traded that in for a 99 DOHC Sport, sold that for a modded SOHC Highline, parted that out and bought my current 96 ACR Sedan for $400 :D Looking forward to pass...
