Check your motor mounts? They tend to come apart and there will be vibration throughout chassis.

Lol go for it. I've done it for several people for cheap/free around here. It's fun and I enjoy doing it.

I'd still definitely do the 2.4 swap. While you have engine out, best time to get it ready for future mods. Get .040" taken off the head, get Crower valve springs (usually on back order from summit when I order them), install new valve stem seals as well. If you want, you don't live too far from her...

There's more to it than just the engine. With a stock 2.4 in my black coupe, I ran 14.7's with the interior in it. Blew it up, swapped in a 2.0, car ran 14.8's. Rest of setup was same except exhaust was changed to fast fabs header and 2.5" instead of the kirk header and stock exhaust on the 2.4. Eac...

Or jus do a head swap for now :) sounds about as complicated as building an sohc even tho a sohc can run damn good for cheap.but stock for stock a 2.4 is slower than a 2.0 dohc. uhm, NO. the 2.4 is way better. my bud's white r/t with a stock 2.4 was faster than my r/t with the stock 2.0. better tou...

Butt dyno? A better header would make a much bigger difference. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c115/chipkinnett/header-1.jpg Kirk on bottom, AFX on top. I dropped from 15.1's to 14.5's going from kirk to afx on a 2.4 with crane 12's, stock pcm, intake, etc. Also added 2.5" exhaust and new struts ...

No, the dohc header will not fit, its got a different bolt pattern. If you have no emissions, I suggest not using a cat. LTH is the way to go on a sohc. The first header you posted for the dohc is a great header for the dohc, i've had it over a year and it was the best bolt on performance I bought ...

The link I posted? That's mine. Best time of 13.379@101.07 mph. You used stock bottom end, milled stock (mag) head, a rather "big" cam for the engine (not many bigger than the 14 that are readily available), and all the bolt-ons, expecting 15.3. I used stock bottom end, milled stock head, "big" cams...

A healthy stock 2.4 will do just as much as your setup will. I've put at least 5 Neons into mid-high 14's with a stock 2.4 in them. Cost as much as a Crane 14 and mag head. No box intake, header, huge tb, etc. My buddy's full interior coupe went 14.9 on street tires with a 2.4 last summer. Milled he...
