My beater neon had a PG in it. Engine was stock. The PG did almost nothing. Like Jeff said, it requires very little effort to overcome the spring pressure applied to the gears. You need clutches for spring type differentials to work good. At the very least, you need to machine the ridge off the back...

You will have to do some machining of the gears to make it work right. It wont work as well as a Quaife, but it should perform similar to a PG (which isn't that great).

An aftermarket converter will never perform as well as an OEM converter. Another issue you face is that your universal converter is far away from the head due to the long tube header. This greater distance doesn't allow the converter to get hot enough to be as efficient as it probably could be. Be s...

You need a better converter. Put the stock manifold and converter on to pass the test. Quit putting shit in your oil.

The lawn tractor battery is a great choice. Optima batteries are good, but they are heavy and unnecessary for your application. I have a 400cca 17lb AGM battery mounted in the fender that starts my car up with ease. Ill take that any day over a 50lb Optima.

So the alternator is your only accessory? Having only 1 belt and 1 acc. pulley kind of narrows it down.

I told ya 4 guage is plenty you need a higher cranking battery, and make sure its sealed, gases from the battery charging can get into the car and make you sick! I would suggest an optima red top, thats what I got its sealed and a 1000 cranking amps so you shouldn't have any probs after that, you c...

You probably didn't use a power cable that was thick enough. You should have used a single 2ga cable or two 4ga cables.

95's are easy to add a return line. The canister already has a return.

Almost every modern automatic transmission has a torque converter clutch (TCC). Yours definitely does. Overdrive is any gear with a ratio numerically lower than 1:1. All gears numerically higher than 1:1 are called under-drive. A 1:1 gear ratio is called direct drive.

It says overdrive on the papers, but there is no button to find and when i drive it, it is more like a 4 speed tranny,
if i keep one speed for longer then 10 seconds it shifts in this 4th gear.
You are feeling the torque converter clutch engaging. Its a 3 speed transmission.

If the crank pulley was seized, the engine would be seized. You may be able to determine which of the two belts is the problem by spraying silicone on the belt. If the noise stops, you've found the problem belt. The only problem I can foresee with the stock crank pulley is that it is a two piece des...
