start with inexpensive basics like he said, if some exhaust work could be done i suggest it too. theres a few tricks like 2.7 rocker swap gives your cams more lift, and they can be found in a junk yard.

gasoline will take the adhesive off, just wash it really well, then wax if your paint is good.

any how, the heads really dont differ, so swaping one is rellatively pointless. but swapin a 01 and later head to a 00 and earlier head is not a good idea, so if your thinkin of swapin an srt head to your 2.0, dont.

but does it go up in intensity with engine rpm, or vehicle speed? im going on a limb and saying it goes with engine speed, which would most likely mean lifters, or just loose oil clearances. again, its a guess. the other thing, pre-ignition is a possible culprit. hows the plugs?

too much to get an srt trans to work right, but a well built 3.55 1st gen trans can handle it.

spell check first of all. second, now that i'm done being a prick, hows your oil level? is there exhaust hangers that are loose? where is the sound coming from? if you can hear it then it should be able to be pin pointed. does it go up in volume or intensity with engine rpm or vehicle speed?

my 3.55 swapped srt is handling great. change to a pt clutch and it'll do fine. or just dont run tons of boost and you'll never have traumatic issues.
