I have a 99 neon with a plastic tank and non servicable filter / pump. I have a earlier style (96) metal tank, new pump, and new external filter. can I use the pump / filter setup on the 99? will it work with the plastic tank or am I going to have to swap the metal one?

I haven't decided on things like the fuel tank yet, I will more than likely use it. as for the exhaust system I may be making up something one off because I am trying to fit it in a smaller shed, but I do want it quiet so I am going to keep it about the same length with a quiet ...

so I am thinking that the engine may have been moved from TDC while I had the head off. is there any good way to tell if it is on the correct stroke? I may pull the engine and try to get it all straightened out as well as change the clutch and clean up the engine bay.

I sat down with the fsm (I have one for the neon and one that covers the engine.) and started figuring it out.

I think it would be a fun project and have some use from something that would have otherwise been rotting away most of the things I'll be useing I already have

it is pretty much universal, all your doing is putting a flasher in so it flashes the light.this was a cheap easy way, but there are better options that flash for few moments than go steady.... so your not blinking everyone to eath

I think it was built in April 1996 I found some build papers behind the dash with the date but I can't find em right now. (I put em somewhere so safe I can't find em )

Thanks, I was thinking building the engine for turbo than swapping it in during the winter a year or two from now. the '02 only has 85K miles on it right now so not too worried about having too many problems.

not sure if this is the right place. is the 96 Sohc engine different from one that would be found in a 02 sxt? could I use the head or block? I am giving the 96 to my father for body parts and was thinking about keeping the block if it'd work with the 02 as a extra / project engine.
