Tried it tonight on a spare head... Doesn't work! the Evo retainer measures differently, and the installed height is all wrong. The Evo spring is a Beehive so the retainer is a smaller ID where the spring seats. So i tried using the Evo retainer with the neon keepers... the installed height of the s...

You could probably get a set for 25 bucks.

call up English Racing 360 210 7484 and ask them for a set of used Evo 8/9 valve springs. i KNOW they have a bunch on hand.

I get closer to 20-24mpg. It's pretty terrible. My Evo gets 26mpg and it makes over 500whp. I'm failing to see the compromise that was made... I get poor fuel economy because of what again?

The KW & ST brand coilovers look promising. I know Robi-spec builds a lot of v3 KW's for Evos...I'd be curious if he could rebuild the neon shocks...or maybe even revalve to better internals.

Sweet! I bought mine so I would DD it also. Header is cheap for it actually, and CAI kits are cheap too. Mine's a 2010 though lol. And I know the AWD ones have a weird header that is NOT easily replaced because it is integrated with the cat. Mine is a 2.4 dual VVT with the manual transmission and F...

http://www.briancrower.com/makes/dodge/srt4_valvetrain.shtml look at the SRT-4 spring PN and the Evo PN. http://www.briancrower.com/makes/mitsubishi/4g63_evo9.shtml The Evo 9 lift and duration stock is nearly identical to the Crower 3/4 profile. Therefore I can "assume" that the mitsubishi engineers...

No More Koni's... what's next?

Since Koni made the only decent shock for a neon...and now its discontinued... what are people doing in lieu? I called True Choice and they can still rebuild the old koni's, so I guess the best solution would be to have a used set sent in to be rebuilt and shortened. The BC coilover & Ksport crap ha...

Using Evo valve springs for Crower 3/4 cams

I recently purchases some Crower stg 3 cams for my 2.4L stratus engine in my neon. I was looking at spring specs (free length, installed height, ID, & OD) for the Neon and the Evo. Turns out they use the same spring. They're heads are also very similar; same finger follower type 2 valvetrain configu...

Good day fellow neon enthusiasts! My name is Eric Urness, but everyone calls me Ernie. I've been a neon owner since around 2000. I've had (in order) 99 PR4 R/T , 96 PR4 sport coupe, 98 PR4 R/T, 98 Aquamarine 4dr, and now a Blue 98 R/T. I use my 98 R/T as a commuter car to work and back... it current...
