From a 2.0 to a 2.6??

Post by 2drSRT4 » Fri Mar 04, 2011 7:37 pm

Hey guys, I've been doing some research, and I may be building my own 2.6 here soon. The idea has already been shit on by a guy I know, but for the price, it's totally worth it. If you guys are interested, the machine shop that I am taking it to has done offset ground cranks before, and they were very willing to get me a quote within 20 minutes and discuss the entire build. I will be calling wiseco or another piston company to get a price on pistons, but as for rods, the rods you're supposed to use (according to the original plan by some guys on the SRTforums) are the 4G63 rods. This should be a fun build. Please, leave any comments, questions, concerns, etc. here and if you have any questions at all, let me know. You can PM me or email me or just ask it here! I'm more than willing to answer your questions. This is gonna be a really awesome engine. I'm aiming for about 250-300 N/A horsepower

I'll get pics of all the stuff as it sits, the ported head, my block, etc. and then the machine shop, etc. I'm too excited right now to take pics.

He has to use a 2.4. If he think he is gonna make it with a 2.0 he's greatly mistaken. But I think he does mean with a 2.4

Yes, I'm a little smarter than I may seem. It is with a 2.4. Pulled the pistons and the bottom end was bad anyway. I'm not too happy, but I have to use my 2.0 for a while. I'm going to build the 2.6 as I drive the car for now.

Good idea. There is a pretty extensive thread on this over on neons.org too. There's even talk of using stock DSM rods, with a certain piston, to have a decently cheap bottom end, that will still hold 400HP or so.

Yeah, you use 4G63 rods. At least that's what my machine shop said would work. The pistons have to be custom. I'll get all the information. And if my machine shop is right (which I trust them) then this build should be perfectly fine to hold up to 700-800 hp which is what I am aiming for it. Cryo treated crank FTW

Craig, I don't like talking to you, but the project's been on the back burner for a bit. I was thinking that I should send the crank to get done next week or something. It would be neat to have it done.

LackOf called me Craig a while ago so now either this tard thinks he's being funny or he thinks that's my name. Paulson called me Craig in LackOf's for sale thread as a dig at him so maybe that's where he got it.

It doesn't bother me one bit though, call me what you want. In the end its just a different set of sound waves or pixels on a screen.
