you can run that on a turbo setup.....look at every rb series nissan engine. Just need to set up a sealed plenum.

I don't see the point of running them on a turbo. Main reason to run them N/A is to have no plenum to get in your way. With a turbo, you just want the boost to get to the ports easily, a big TB would be better than ITB's in a turbo system.

i totally agree with chip......... just because the rb engines and others out there have done it doesnt mean its the best way, not to mention its to damn complicated. just build a big plenum and put a big throttle body if u want to boost.

I guess if you wanted to do it to have a "cool" setup then go for it, but it wouldn't show much for gains. Hell it would probably create turbulence in the runners.

And the complicated part, don't forget about that. Laughing

well i have plans to take it back to the track in a few weeks here with the following car and mods that help me to go a bit faster.........

1995 sohc base coupe (2810 lbs. with me in it)
prothane motor mount inserts
solid bobble
no a/c or p/s
fresh stock rebuild (no more blow by like the last track times had)
very mildly ported head
crane 14 cam

itb's

last time i did a 16.0 at 86 with.......

mopar computer

Mike, are you having trouble hooking up or something? Definately not trying to bash you or anything, but 2 years ago I was running 15.5-15.7 With a SOHC with just and UDP, 3.0 CAI, and a Borla muffler on street tires. I just hate to see you get crap for not running better times.

on that 16.0 run i had a 2.2 60ft....... the car just didnt have enough to get me to go any faster i guess.......... not sure if altitude has anything to do with it either. im not a drag racing expert but i know if i nail a good 60ft then as long as i can keep from missing a shift down the track some where then my time should be decent. btw that 16.0 run was on 185/65/13 tires (or something like that) witht he 3.55 tranny. and for the next trip to the track i now have som 55 series 16" tires on the car and i also now have a 3.94 tranny.......... forgot to to mention those above.

get some 185-215 section 14" tires on it, honeslty i think the biggest problem your going to have is mid range. the ITB's as you know are geared for top end, the 3.55 will probably let you use those a little more, however its gonna be a bit to get up into the powerband on em and thats going to murder your times.

I'd drop down to 49mm tb's, 19lb injectors and MS so you can actualy tune the fuel instead of just playing with volume.
Your having the same problem I do with my intake, just more extreme, i have a sick throttle response but zero actual power under 4k, once I hit 4k the thing takes off likea bullet but getting it to stay hooked up crossing 4k is challenging in itself. The dr's start shakin pretty good through 2nd and into 3rd pretty hard.

where does the power start to come on? Try launching maybe 400rpm under that so your actually moving once the power hits pretty good. On a 14 with a ton of air coming in, i'd imagine your probably hitting int he same general area so probably try launching around 3700 or so, dont nescessarily sidestep the clutch but maybe load the driveline a bit and just hold it with the ebrake.

Experiement with it, the last car i played around with with itb's was a b18, so doesn't really apply.

do you have a how to/ projectlog showing how you made them?

Is that stock neon TB's you used? looks like it would be easier than modifying GSXR 750 ITB's
