Side trim removal

I want to remove the rubber side trim on my coupe. How do i get the stuff off it leaves behind?? Should i sand it off and repaint?

gasoline will take the adhesive off, just wash it really well, then wax if your paint is good.

I got it all off. Took two days after school but i got it. Paint was really bad underneath so i didn't take much care when scraping the glue stuff off with a razor blade. Im considering painting the car white or black.
