Id go for it, most of those panels you can replace. As fir the rockers you would just have to weld or glue all new rocker sections in, but i advise having someone good at body work doing the rockes, so they don't rot out from the elements.

yeah, i will probly do that just to be safe. but there not rusted or anything now so im not concerned really. if i do start seeing any rust i just throw some rust inhibitor paint on it to stop it till i can take it somewhere.

yeah i started following that a little while ago, have you gotten any more dont to it lately? i would love to see some updates! lol but yeah i mean its really not all that bad. other than one dent and the rockers its all bolt on parts. and everything still opens it just binds up a little and makes some noise in the process lol

My project is very slow moving, i have little money and alot of bills. all i need is to mount it in solid and run fuel and hook up something for cooling and i could start the engine. but i don't think i will be able to do that for another two months due to money. but for now ive been cutting the floor for the trans to fit and getting the engine to sit exactly where i want it, and trying to find a suitable rack and pinion. i have the engine held in with some tie straps so the cars suspension now has full engine/trans weight on it.

Yes they make a product call panel bomd, and it is just as good as welding.

yeah i would rather trust a weld anyday even though ive personally seen that stuff hold on better than a good weld.

I'd take the glue over the weld anyday. Welding is starting to slowly go out to of the auto body world and being replaced with glue. Wish i had used it on my patch panel, would've trusted it more.

Aparently robots are not good anymore since alot of new cars are being panel bonded, with only a few spot welds in between. You cannot weld on this thinner HSLA steel like you can on the old crap. All you do end up doing is burning through, warping it, or not penetrating enough.

Plus it's cheaper and produces a stronger product than spot welds alone. The sheet metal will tear around the glue before it will give.
