Post by Gim H3ll » Mon Aug 08, 2011 11:25 pm

ok i have a 1998 plymouth neon and i was drivin to my dads house the other day car died 40ft from driveway and wont start up again. (car will crank tho) i push it up the driveway to find out car isnt getting gas so i check fuse and replace the blown one car starts and idles for half hour. i get in and put the car in reverse i move 10ft and it dies . i use 3 fuses to get to the end of the driveway (maybe 100ft long) so wat can i do to fix this issue ? any help greatly apperciated too.

o and putting in a 25a fuse instead of 20a doesnt matter still blows

Do you know how to check circuits? Check for a short somewhere in the fuel pump relay, If there aren't any, maybe try a new pcm. To make it extremely simple, just unhook yours and plug the new one in without completely installing it. If it still blows the fuse after not finding a short and a new pcm, then you need to search the entire engine harness for a short somewhere.

my 97 i guess used to randomly pop the fuse for the fuel pump when my uncle was driving right before i got it. but since i got it it never did it once to me. never could figure out why. so my guess is the pcm isnt the problem

most likely not. check out the wiring for the downsteam o2 sensor. i have had several that werent secured correctly and drop and rub the cv axle. then you move and it'll pop the 25a fuel pump fuse in the pdc.

zip tie to the engine to trans brace if you have a steel pan, or it may reach and zip toe to the transfer lines on the rack.

i zip tied mine loosely to a little hole in the alternator bracket and then to the steel brake lines that run across the fire wall.
