Best run: 15.954 @ 86.58 mph
Got 12 passes in. All between 15.964 and 16.4 except for the pass where I couldn't find 3rd gear, then it was a 16.8. Took 4 tries to go into gear lol. Synchros are pretty bad in 3rd. It actually popped out of gear once lol. I was ---- cuz I ran a 16.006 @ 82 mph on that pass and prolly woulda had a better time than the 15.954.
Oh well, not bad for a bone stock '95 SOHC (in a '96) unless you think a 3.0 intake tube, DOHC muffler and PCM and no accessories are actually mods. They are just on cuz that's how the car was before I had to throw the SOHC in. _________________ '97 black ACR coupe- #3 - Scrappy

Rock Falls Raceway by Eau Claire, WI. Define "right on par" cuz I've not seen many people hit 15's with a stock SOHC. AMM had to use ITB's and a Mopar computer and crap to hit 15's. _________________ '97 black ACR coupe- #3 - Scrappy

usually stock sohcs can run lower 16's if the motor is in good shape. Not trying to take away from your glory chip _________________ 97 sohc- 'Victoria'

My 95' would trap 89 and do 15.7 with less mods than you chip. This was right at sea level though. Also was with 175 80 13's as well or what ever rediculous tires come on a stock 95'. _________________ Jordan

I think its a good time for a SOHC. I would be happy if my SOHC powered beater ran 17's. _________________ "Losers always whine about their 'best'. Winners go home and fuck the prom queen"

I was reading through the forums and found this.. figured id add my 2 cents.
my '95 DOHC and 3.94 tranny, with olmost a centimeter of filth caked on the intake manifold and all 16 valves lol, and 300,000+ miles on the engine(not sure exactly how much over 300k) ran 17.02 at Reynolds Raceway or "Silver Dollar Raceway" as some called it, in Georgia. oh yea, the 17.02 time, it started burning oil like a whore after I hit 3rd. after its 2nd run it completely locked up. I loved it, cause now it has a 60k SOHC out of a 2001 ES
The DOHC that blew up had only these mods: Iceman, EGR block-off plates, hard mounted linkage at the shifter, SRT4 shift rod, MM inserts, and Magnaflow muffler. Also the 17.02 run was with a passenger. Him and I together probably weigh around 280-320lbs. _________________ KEEDY/"KEEDERS"/"KUTTER"

Holy old thread bump!
That engine blew up while driving on freeway only 3 months later. Had severe lack of power for a day and then seized up solid. When I tore the trans down, the synchros for 3rd and 5th had no teeth left on them, the trans was full of brass chunks, and the bearing on the output shaft was missing. Well I found it in the case. _________________ '97 black ACR coupe- #3 - Scrappy
