Omg, the memories....

Post by metal_gear_jon » Sat Jan 23, 2010 9:29 pm

I was searching Craigslist tonight after posting my beater on there and saw this.....http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/1562901050.html

It's my old 95 sport that I bought back in '05 and sold this last spring. That was the car that got me hooked (more or less) on Neons in the first place.
I'm glad that it's still on the road even though it was a Toluca built, ATX rust bucket. I spent so much money repairing alot of stuff that went bad on that car.

So many memories, so much rust, good times.

Has anyone else have an experience like this? :D

Heck you're from Spring Hill? I used to live there as a kid. I also lived in New Port Richey and Bayonet Point right off of Little Rd. in Jasmine Estates. I went to Fox Hollow Elementary and Bayonet Point Middle school.

I was down there back in '08 and it's changed alot since the 90's

US 19 is like a expressway now ! :D

It's been so long ago, I'd have to ask my mom what road we lived on down there. It might of been right on Spring Hill Drive. You're near Weeki Wachee. Do they still have Withlacoochee power company there?

You won't have to worry about rust down there (unless you drive into the gulf or a canal).

Florida always had more speed shops and alot more people into cars. Maybe it's the weather  .

Na, they were hazed when I sold it. I did sand and clear the turns though. The headlight gaskets were gone too

Remember, it was just the daily beater after I got the 98 MTX.
No A/c and power steering didn't make a fun 40 mile commute each day.

Here it was the fall before I sold it. Before I swaped the alloys to the coupe.

I was lucky to get a grand for it! Paint was peeling from the roof and just starting to come off the hood, not to mention the rust.

I see one of my old cars around often. Smashed up blue 98 2 dr sohc atx I got 2 years ago for $250. Replaced the hood with one from a 95 so the blues didn't match right. "fixed" the bumper that was pushed down with a hammer, it didn't look too bad. GF's dad bought it a few months later for $700 and loved it. Sold it for $600 a couple months later, and now I see it at least once a week.

I kinda do that too, buy 'em from the local charity auction for cheap. Fix most of the problems  then sell them a few months or years later (depends if I like it enough).

There's another PGS color '95 highline that's comming up in a week or two. It's just like the beater I just sold, but it has the driftwood guts like my first '95.

I like repopulating the area with Neons :D .
