Have a question about how to make horsepower going the all motor route, here's where to ask it.
Only thing you NEED to replace is the valve springs with any sohc. Thats all you have to do, but come get oversized SS valves and new rockers and stuff but you dont have to. Youll feel good with a nice P&P job on that head and get it decked .020"-.040" to boost compression a little.
My comp 400 runs perfect at idle..no need for any fuel tuning device. I am pretty sure you could get away with running a crane 14 without having to lean the idle out some, although you would not be getting the most out of it without some way to tune the fuel curve.
