Hey guys its my first post here in a long time.. new name (cant remember my old name).

so anyways i just bought a 98 DOHC Manual trans with P&P intake manifold and head, bigger cams etc... but im getting really bad MPG. with city driving included im lookin at like 18mpg... what could be the cause?

Thats about what I'm getting.
main cause for mine is o2 Sensor and lead foot.

more hp= less mpg. simplest equation in all of carhood. with more performance comes less "realiability" in your case fuel mileage. my 2.0 when it was cammed with big t/b and other crap it was doing about 19-20 at best. my 2.4 gets better now though and is faster (wonder if the 3.55 trans swap helped).

i know more HP means Less MPG ...but damn... make a few extra ponies and cut the fuel milage in half?.. lol.. if i was looking at twice the HP i could see it but for a minor gain in power it seems a little much. oh well..

yeah im going to take it in to get smogged tomorrow..once it fails hopefully they can tell me in what area so i know better where to look. like ballistik said im thinking mines also an upstream O2 sensor problem.
