The plug under the core plug at cylinder #2 is a water jacket. This is used for the coolant feed to the turbo. The sensor that is closest to the flexplate/flywheel is oil pressure. The thread for the oil sensor is 3/8 NPT, so you need a 3/8 NPT tee to keep the factory oil switch or use a gauge sending unit.

do you have to tap it or just pull a bolt out to use the water hole?

Unscrew the plug that is in the hole. The hole size itself is 1/4" NPT, so get a 90 degree 1/4" NPT hose barb adapter and you can run a hose from the stock turbo coolant feed line to the hose barb.

Nice writeup. Im definatly turboing my car this summer and this page helped tremendously. Just a couple questions for anyone who knows. Where do you get an fpr? Does an aftermarket fmu have one built in to it? And also where can you buy the AN fittings and connectors?

Not all FMU's can regulate base pressure. Base pressure is the amount of fuel pressure the fuel system is under when the turbo is not making boost.

Optimally, you would want to find an FMU that can set a base pressure. When a boost reference is applied to the FMU, the pressure will raise a certain amount over the base pressure.

If you get an FMU that cannot set base pressure, you need to purchase a separate FPR. The FPR will set base pressure and the FMU will raise the pressure when a boost signal is applied.

As far as AN fittings, most performance shops will carry them. Jegs and Summit have an excellent selection as well.
