Neon Weights?
Does anyone have the info on the specific weights on each model neon? Or maybe a rough out. I know coupes are lighter than the sedans obviously, but the #'s would be pretty nice to have for info.
Something other than just this that I found in the .org faq:
Base:
PRO: lightweight, basic car; good platform for a racer
CON: Fewest comfort or appearance items, only SOHC engine
Highline:
PRO: good equipment level and performance for the price
CON: least performance-oriented
Sport/Expresso:
PRO: even more standard comforts than Highline car, bonus appearance items
CON: slightly heavier than Highline
ACR:
PRO: best handling package, best acceleration, no automatic available
CON: stiffest ride, limited options, no automatic available
R/T:
PRO: better handling package than Highline or newer Sport, better ride and comfort options than ACR, no automatic available
CON: heavier than ACR, no automatic available
Style:
PRO: heavily optioned, rare car
CON: heavy, only SOHC available

Yeah on 95's it actually says the curb weight of the car in the jamb, my R/T doesn't. Yet I figure its around 2300 or so, especially cause its a no option car. I really just wanted to know if it would weigh as much as an ACR or a base model, cause they're the lightest supposedly.Skill wrote:Roughly i just usually state the coupe is at 2300 and the 4 door comes in at 2400. That's what I've always went by, of course there will be this and that making a difference, but i think that's a good base to start on, until there is actual weigh in.

Dealer won't know, and every car weighs different. Like you'd think an ACR sedan would be light but Jeff's 95 ACR comes in around 2400 and that's about where Tony told me his should be at when it's done except his is a coupe.

hell the dealer doesn't even know about the newer cars, let alone the older ones.
I guess it all depends on options like PS, A/C, power windows, mirrors, locks, sunroof, alarm, SOHC or DOHC, insulation, which struts/springs you have, what sways, split folding rear seats or solid. Even mods. Stuff like that.
