you can't exactly look at the weight in the door because its the gross vehicle weight rating. so its the maximum weight that the car can handle in KG and LBS. It says the actual curb weight of the car in my 95 but doesn't in my R/T or SRT, so [shrugs].
and Vinny, btw was that with or without the spare tire? I know you said empty trunk but completely empty? and its probably a no option car, which is why its that light, eh?

I went to a truck stop with my 1996 Plymouth Neon Highline, they politely told me I could use the scale with no charge... those things are massive. I got a full tank with me out of the car at 2236.
17in. Rims `BION 22lbs w. tire' 18.3lbs w.o tire Enkei +5 wheels not bad for 17in forged alum.
Gutted interior
Carbon hood
All I need to hit the 2100 mark is a carbon trunk and fenders...maybe some racing seats! lol
Wish I had a Sedan to compare to.

Someone mentioned this topic won't die, they are right. So many factors make the weight of a car. Adding aftermarket 6x9's can ad up to 10 pounds or more depending on the quality of the speaker.
We just had a big discussion about this on the other org not too long ago. I compared the weight list on page 3 or 4 of the archives to weights I found on consumerauto.com (i think that was the site) and they were about the same if I remember. Someone said weights were determined with standard options of that model. If you have optional equipment your car will be heavier than its model listing. ACR's are heavier than some models because of the beefier knuckles, 4 wheel discs, and bigger sway bars. The highline coupe is rated as being the lightest first gen by about 25 pounds but mine had optional 14 inch tires instead of the 13 inch, it also had a different power steering rack list in optional equipment but should weigh the same as others. So it probably weighs the same as a standard sedan.
And about the nitro neon. Dealers have been known to decal cars to make them more appeasing to buyers. I am almost 100% sure I have seen Dakota's with nitro decals on them.

Not only did you wake the dead but you woke it not even knowing what your talking about. I am guessing you didnt even read the posts. THE GVWR IS NOT HOW MUCH THE CAR WEIGHS. Think of it like a max capacity rating. Curb weight is the actual weight of the car, but i still think its a generic number that doesnt account for various options and what not.subzero wrote:talk about resurrecting a dead thread but the door tag on my highline lists it at 3463LBS (GWVR) idk where you guys figure 2300-2400. but mine is an auto saloon. maybe thats why the weight dist is 63/37
