I just got my first neon about two months ago and I was wondering... Is there a switch or something that doesn't switch on the dome light when the door is open... I know it's a safety feature but it gets pretty annoying every time I vacuum the car during the day and it drains the battery, so I need to jump start it every time it does.

I think you need a new battery or you need to vacuum faster. personally I'd pull the bulb since the dome light fuse is on the same circuit as the radio memory.

you could run a switch so it only came on when you wanted it too. cheap and easy

easily just unplug your door switches that give it ground. you only need a #2 Phillips screwdriver then and your headlight switch turned all the way to the left will turn off and on your dome light.
