is there a diff in part numbers for the alternator for the diff years?

(just 1st gen)

yes there are diff plugs. The plug on my 98 is diff then my 97. DOHC

When I changed my '95 it was stamped Mitsubishi. I can check the p/n when I get home if you like.

pretty sure you are wrong.

You gotta make sure to get one for the year you have, the plug for the power to the field windings varies by year, not 100% sure what years had what plugs but they don't interchange easily.

96/97 directly interchange. yes the plugs are different in other years.
