1995 NYG SC, rebuilt 2.4L, Madison, WI $2200

Post by chipdogg » Fri Mar 12, 2010 9:16 pm

95 NYG Sport Coupe
190k on body
Power locks/mirrors, stock CD player

Engine:
Rebuilt 2.4L, 3500 miles on it. I rebuilt it in November.
All new bearings. Rod bearings are coated Clevites, coated by Polydyn in Texas
New rings, block was honed by local shop
Head was milled .040", Crane DOHC valve springs, 3 angle valve job by another local shop
MPX UDP
Stock manifolds.
It's ready to have some bolt-ons put on and cams installed to make it a rather quick car that looks good.

Stock 3.94 trans, newer clutch about 50k ago when my buddy bought it.
Sport rims, no major nicks/dings
Good tires

Body is rather clean, paint is shiny. I know the passenger fender and trunklid have been replaced. So has hood and front bumper, but I took those from the other NYG in the driveway. It's got some dings and dents, rocker panels are beat up a bit. It's still a 15 year old car with 190k on it so it's hard not to have met something else.

Windshield is brand new from back in March, as are rear rotors. E-brake grabs strong, adjusted it when I did rotors. Brakes are good, front tires were new in March too.

Car drives great, had been my DD till I sold it last March/April. My buddy had it for about 2 years after we picked it up in PA maybe 3 years ago. It's very peppy after putting the 2.4L in.

$2200 OBO. I'd rather keep it as a back-up car than sell it for cheap.

Pics finally:

Just replaced metal tank with plastic tank, and fuel filler neck is like new. Old pump finally took a shit after 188k miles, and filler neck broke off when dropping tanks. Runs great now.

Clear coat on hood is 85% gone but looks good besides some rock chips. Body is pretty good but has it's dings. Rocker panels and 1/4 panel by passenger taillight is also dented. Passenger fender and trunk lid are a bit brighter from replacement by owner in PA, and rear bumper is scuffed/cracked from pushing it in garage with another Neon.

I really love these color Neons, seen only 2 in my life.... I had a chance to buy a titled NYG Neon off CraigsList a few months ago for 400 bucks....I kick myself now :)
That is a great deal... wish I was closer and had a few extra bucks....Nice ride...
1995 Plymouth Strawberry 4 door was SOHC ATX with now a full 98 R/T DOHC MTX everything swap front to back ....300,000 miles on 95 before being reborn as a 98 R/T with 68,000 miles.

Just purchased car back from girl I sold it to, she put maybe 2000 miles on it since she bought it from me in April. Not sure why she decided she didn't like it.

Looking for $2200. Looks same as pics above, has 191,xxx on it now. Still fun as hell to drive but I have too many cars.

Nope, I have $1800 worth of IOU's from the black ACR I built a 2.4 for last summer and sold to a friend that are still IOU's. That car may be for sale again soon if I don't get any money.

It'd be worth it, but you better hurry cuz it won't last long. Probably 8-10 hour drive? I drove straight through to New Bremen, Ohio back in September. Long drive for sure.

It is, although it's not mint or anything that's for sure. It's got it's fair share of dings and small dents. 15 years old, 191k on body, it's on par for that.

Fun as hell to drive, I'd keep it but then I gotta register it. Last time I drove it I got pulled over a few times. I gotta stay ticket-free until March 23rd so I can get a company vehicle. The Astro van is the perfect vehicle to keep me out of trouble.
