Seems interesting, I mean as far as FWD sedans go.

Alfa Romeo roots will keep it somewhat performance oriented, and will ensure a poor level of build quality familiar to us 1st gen owners. :)

Hopefully they bring over a diesel version, surely Alfa has one for this platform.

Hopefully a 3-door hatch! Coupes are nice though too, they need something to compete with Civic, tC and Forte. On that note I have to confess, I think the Kia Forte coupe is one very attractive car, the Scion tC wishes it looked that good.

now what they need is to put the 305 hp version of the pentastar v6 in with fwd and a 6 speed manual and then id be forced to quit putting miles on my 1 gen and buy that.

The Forte coupe is very nice. I work at a Hyundai dealership and we get some Kias in. I do like the Forte. I think though, that the 2013 Veloster will be amazing. The 2012 is nothing special under the hood as it's just a re-badged Accent in all honesty, but for 2013, the Veloster will be getting a turbo power plant. It should be able to compete with all the other little copue/sedan FWD sport compact cars. Hopefully they make it AWD to compete with the STi

I actually like the Veloster. And it's not a diesel power plant either. It's just a 2.0 turbo GDI motor. Like in the 2013 coupe or in the Sonata. I think it's also going to have the 19T turbo from the sonata. 275 hp in such a tiny light car. It might even be awd. I don't care if you think it's ugly as hell, I know it's going to be scaring STi's and Evo's away. It weighs nothing...

I don't think it's such an ugly car. I like the design of it. What I don't like, is the 2013 Gen coupe. That thing is going to be fucking ugly...
