:happy2: It's hard to explain how the dollar lost purchasing power over the last 50 years ... believe me it's nothing like $25.00 today.

By the time that car died, the 1955 Chevrolet with a V8 engine was an affordable used car for most people. I bought a safe, reliable
1946 Plymouth for $125.00 to replace it. The Plymouth was a great car, that lasted until I finished High School.

My first was my 73 Charger I bought no motor or trans but it did have an 8.25 open rear with 3.23 gears for $400. I then bought a 77 Ram D150 with a 318 and 727 for $150 no title and had a small engine fire. A carb swap and points distributor I had it running in 45 minutes. I parted the truck for the car and sold the charger before it was running to get my 67 Charger 318 with a 904 trans with a 742 case 8.75 open 3.23 gears. I got my license and broke pinion bearing my first night out. Then put in a 741 case with 3.55 gears and welded spider gears. currently sporting a 0.030 over 440 forged crank with a 292adv. duration, 0.509" lift cam with 850 holly 3.55 gears with a sure-grip a stoutly rebuilt 727 with full manual cheetah valvebody and 2400 rpm stall

Only driving it when I can afford the 9MPG fuel economy. Went 13.2 in the quarter with alot of tire spin last month. I just bought a used cone type limited slip just like whats in it now. I plan on rebuilding by cutting the cones and putting stiffer preload springs in it. I got the cones at the machine shop now and the springs are on my desk.

Latent Autoimmune Diabetes of Adults (LADA), also known as Diabetes Type 1.5, is a term coined by Tuomi et al. in 1993 (Diabetes 42:359-362) to describe slow-onset Type 1 autoimmune diabetes in adults. The Expert Committee on the Diagnosis and Classification of Diabetes Mellitus (Diabetes Care, Volume 30, Supplement 1, January 2007) does not recognize the term LADA; rather, the Expert Committee includes LADA in the definition of Type 1 autoimmune diabetes (“Type 1 diabetes results from a cellular-mediated autoimmune destruction of the beta-cells of the pancreas. In Type 1 diabetes, the rate of beta-cell destruction is quite variable, being rapid in some individuals (mainly infants and children) and slow in others (mainly adults).”) The National Institutes of Health (NIDDK) defines LADA as “a condition in which Type 1 diabetes develops in adults.” LADA is a genetically-linked, hereditary autoimmune disorder that results in the body mistaking the pancreas as foreign and responding by attacking and destroying the insulin-producing beta islet cells of the pancreas. Simply stated, autoimmune disorders, including LADA, are an "allergy to self.”

Adults with LADA are frequently initially misdiagnosed as having Type 2 diabetes, based on age, not etiology. In a recent survey conducted by Australia’s Type 1 Diabetes Network, one third of all Australians with type 1 diabetes reported being initially misdiagnosed as having the more common type 2 diabetes.
