This was at the end of my workout, and I decided to try a couple singles to see what I could do. I got this pretty easy actually. I was kinda upset that the dude spotting me even touched it at all. He said he just put his hands there but it sorta ruined the moment for me. I had it though. I'm 5'8" 195lbs. I could keep this strength and cut down to 180-185lbs.

This was the weight I should have gone for when I did 365lbs because by the time I did this my workout was pretty much over and I was fatigued. I almost had it but for some reason got out of my groove and started moving the weight laterally toward my hips rather than toward my eyes. I'm 100% positive if I were to re attempt this next week I would have got it.

My wife Erika was filming and was having fun doing so lol.

The guy spotting me is huge and could probably rep this like nothing. I've been told he's done as much as 650lbs.

Damn that's crazy I want to be able to do that someday. It's been a while since I tried (never have a spotter) but I think the best I have done is like 125.

Haha, yeah. I'm not that big really. The Neon is perfect size for me. Heck from what I read on neons.org there are guys who are 300+lbs driving Neons.

My previous best 6 weeks ago was 345lbs at the beginning of my workout.

Best way to get there I've found is to hit the gym and don't let yourself get discouraged cause it's easier to quit than to go. Mid 2006 I was struggling with 225lbs. I quit here and there but finally committed and have been seeing decent results since.

No gym for me, too broke. I do have a weight bench in my basement tho, I just usually stick to barbells though since I never have a spotter. I have to carry a lot of heavy boxes at one of my jobs which helps a lot, they are getting better.

My arms are disproportionately small compared to the rest of my body. My arms are very defined though, they would look great if I only weighed 140lbs heh (I'm at ~165).

At the end of high school I ended up hitting 300lbs (I weighed about 165). I think I could have gotten 315 if I had tried it. I took 3 years off though afterward, put on 35lbs, and when I came back I could barely do 225. That was in 2006. I have worked my way back up since then to where I'm at now. Lost most of the fat and put on muscle in its place.

Nicely done Jonathan. Nice to see another board member who's big into lifting. I've actually never tried to max out but I do reps of 315lb (6-8 reps). I'm also at 195-200lbs at the moment (5'10")
When I pass a Prius I downshift so they can hear me offsetting their "carbon footprint".

Thanks!

This will give you an idea of what you could try maxing at. I can do 315 for 6-8 reps myself. according to that calculator I should be able to hit about 380-400, which is actually what I feel I should have gone for(380 that is). I definitely can't hit 400 or anything in between it and 380 lol.

Applying it to the actual weight is another thing.

I would have never imagined you to be into lifting to the point that you were repping 315. Go in one day and make it a point to find out where you're at on the bench just so you know. I also highly encourage video taping the event so you can check your form and such. Like the second video I can clearly see where I got out of my groove.

Also because someone on neons.org asked me what I was on, I ended up posting a pic of what kinda food I ingest. I just eat lots. Here is a pic of an example meal I had the other night.

I ended up having even more corn bread afterward and also 2 more bowls of mac 'n' cheese. That's pomegranate juice I was washing it down with. I also have 2 scoops of protein prior to my meal (48 grams).

Yea, my biggest problem is I know I don't eat enough or eat alot of the correct foods. I'm try to start though. I've been watching what I eat alot more lately and it seems to be helping. Jonathan, do you take any kinda of supplements at all?

Nothing really. I take about 150g of protein a day in protein shakes. I eat lots of food. I'm not super strict on my diet. I usually stay with lean meats that are high in protein and I ingest a lot of carbs for energy. I'd say I take in on a good day around 5000 Calories a day. Thats really a guess though. Probably why I carry as much fat as I do right now.

But I will probably slim down here in the next month or so since I have my bi annual PRT (Physical Readiness Test) for the Navy.

I have taken creatine monohydrate in the past. I used it for roughly 2 months.

Nothing unnatural here.
