Modern Performance DOHC LTH

It's going on the 2.0 tonight. Just to check it out, you know

Car has been sitting for 3 weeks with the exhaust manifold off. The stock exhaust manifold was cracked (imagine that  ) when I bought it. Matt was nice enough to include a replacement stock manifold with the car. The maniflold was still unopened in the box it was shipped in, by an internet seller. I took off the cracked manifold, looked at the replacement manifold, and it was cracked too! Matt, the dude ripped you off, and pissed me off! Anyway, the car sat waiting for the header and my procrastination.

Oh man, I cant believe that. I want my money back from that guy. He assured me it was not cracked. I guess I should have opened it up and checked instead of trusting it wasn't.

Nice project, what cams you gonna use? Think 10.5 is a bit high for 2.0 cams but should work alright. Bigger ones (like 22's) would be the best way to go.

Want a stronger motor mount?

I just got a solid MM in the mail today. :D I'm getting a solid bobble and inserts from Vinny. :D . The plan is two-staged. Stage 1: bottom end with all the new stuff and the stock 2.4 head with just a clean-up and freshening as needed. Once that's all sorted out...Stage 2: P'nP head, good valve job, 22's, PT rockers and either Rhodes or 2.7 lifters. Some type of engine management SAFC or MS also. I just got Jeff Ball's old differential with Phantom Grip clone and diff pin savers.

What solid mount? You should see the one I made for my car last week. Stiff as hell and surprisingly like no vibrations. Damn thing is so quiet at idle I have to check my tach to make sure it's still running :?

Ah, now you need stiffer side mounts

How's the vibrations with that one? I was looking to make a new front mount but not like that, I was gonna use heim joints.

The MMs will be changed during the swap. Just finished hanging the new header. Everything isn't 100% tight yet. I want to see if the Allen head bolts I'm using clear the alternator mount. I had a hell of a time getting the lower #1 cylinder exhaust manifold bolt out. I switched to Allen heads, and I'll clearance the mount if necessary.
The Modern Performance SS header fits beautifully! It slipped right on. I need a plug for the lower O2 sensor. The old one broke taking it off. I had to use the impact.

Car is on the road again. :D With the LTH, and no cat, the stock DOHC muffler is raspy. I like the Magnaflow on my 2GN. We'll see to that later on. Picked up a stock 1 GN shifter at the J/Y yesterday.

Something I often wish I would do to mine, but I really do like it completely stock. I was planning on skipping MOPAR Nats this year, but your project makes me want to come back. Wait a minute, I plan on taking Interstate 70 to N2K7 on June 11 or 12. Could stop by on the way. Your house couldn't be more than 10 minutes off the interstate. I'll make it a point to get to your place sometime this summer.
