TomZ's '95 ACR 2.4 Project , update 5/6/2008

Post by TomZ » Tue Mar 20, 2007 12:49 am

Pillar mount, 2 gauge
Instrument cluster gauge bezel
EGR Eliminator
heim joint endlinks for rear swaybar
MM inserts
Solid Bobble-all waiting for Vinny to remove and send

MP PCM-installed

'98 Stratus 2.4-on the engine stand :)

24lb injectors, Ford Motorsport-in hand

3.0 CAI-mocked up-paint is drying

NEED: LTH, Rods, bearings, gaskets, oil pump and pan if SRT-4 pump, SAFC, MM adapter and Cloud car MM, alt. bracket, (cams, cam gears, lifters, rockers, PT or 2.7, all may be after swap is running) For now the 2.0 cams will be installed.

1st mod, while waiting for engine parts: 2GN console

Image

Don't flame that shifter! That's how it came. Next J/Y run I'll pick up a stock shifter and send it to Maddog for mod. BTW, the 2GN console mod is a piece of cake.

Donor 2.4: was told it's from a '98 Stratus

Image

Current engine bay (yeah, it needs work, lol), w/ 3.0 CAI (don't like the color, thinking black)

Image

New toy from Harbor Freight. I had the coupon for $99.99 and the 15% off any one item coupon. Net cost $85.00 plus tax. 1000 lb. capacity, foldable.

Image

Parts are rolling in!

P'nP 2.0 intake w/ Vitor's plenum and TB spacer, opened up to 60MM, PT waterneck. Porting is 90% done, just need to remove 3 injector humps. Not sure how crazy I'll get polishing the outside.

Weisco 10.5:1, .020 over

I assume that the person before you cut the shifter down to nothing. Ive never seen a shifter that was that low before.

Yes, it was the person before him. It did have a taller shifter on it that made it not that bad, but it broke so that one got put on making it about 2-3 inches lower. I think at the time the guy before him liked it, but now can see how ridiculously small it is.

Yeah I really just cant see how the person would think this was a good Idea. I mean Im all for a shorter shifter , but this passes the boundery of being practical to hurting the fuctionality of it. but its good to see hes going to be replacing it :)
