Ok, so i took some pictures of stuff i have questions about.

The car still runs weird. It runs smooth and doesn't hesitate down low and feels fine. Like up until 3.5-4k rpm it pulls and drives fine. Then the intake gets really loud like a honda in vtec and the car starts to pull a lot less and less while it climbs through the RPM.

Timing appears to be dead on. I know everyone says to not trust the cam gears, but all the pictures of the cam gears lined up on perfect time looks like mine.

The cam magnet.

what is this yellow with red strip wire go to? it's not hooked up to anything.
Image

Any idea what these wires are to?
Image

any idea what this goes too?? haha, this is coming off the main harness by the ecu and fuse block.
Image

And i'm guessing this is for the speedo?

Can someone please try and answer anyone of these questions without being a doucher in anyway?

I'm starting to think it may be lacking fuel up high. I guess i can throw my 302 injectors in and see what happens.

Could my ECU just be being weird? Or a throttle body, intake or vacuum leak cause it? I doubt they could cause the intake to get loud and it stop pulling as hard and slowly pull slower and slower. My car does idle at 1500 for some reason. Maybe a sticky IAC? could be a vacuum leak.

I just wish i could get an answer why my car does what it does.

The pigtail by the master cylinder/main harness is for your cruise control,

The plug on the trans is for your back up lights, your speedo is on the PTO output shaft of the trans (passanger axle)
Ill look at the PCM pin outs tonight for a yellow/red wire to let you know.

What harness are those wires coming from?
Was the car originally an auto?

check for vacuum leaks and grab and Iac motor to be on the safe side.

Wow, thanks for the info!

Those wires not going anywhere are running down into a thick part probably the main harness running along the frame and up to the core support.

The car was originally an auto sohc neon.

Looking forward to what that yellow wire goes too.

I'll have to check for vacuum leaks and get some spare IACs from the junkyard.

I'm not actually sure if it has the stock sohc harness modded, or the 2.4 harness, or a modded dohc harness.

Thanks!

I doubt that is something causing my problems. I should fix it though.

I haven't really been updating this because no one really cares about a shitty Neon. haha, i understand.

Got a good 2.0 DOHC engine harness and ecu. Also got a barely used, almost brand new starter, plug wires, another aftermarket radio, some random spoiler from a Saab, some relays, and some small interior pieces for $40 today. The guy at Parts Depot cuts me such good deals. The harness was $25, the ECU was $23, and the Starter was $23 with a core. The other stuff just goes for about $20. so $90 of stuff for $40. :woot:

Image

Also pulled a 1G talon steering wheel, some more black interior pieces, wiper motor, 8k cluster, and an ATX throttle body and hid it in a trunk of a stratus and took the key to the stratus haha. I'll probably go back and pick all that stuff up for like $15 tomorrow.

Gotta love cheap junlyard project cars haha.
