I've done them several times in friends' Neons. Hell we swapped one in my buddy's car like 6 times in one day. I had 2 used ones that worked when they came out, all of them turned on with the relay and sounded like they were working, but no fuel came out. Somehow all 3 were clogged or something. Brand new pump, car fired right up. Retarded.

Shoulda cut the metal at work with the plasma cutter but didn't have time, plus I designed it today. Next time I'm doing it at work, cutting that shit with snips was impossible (16 gauge steel) and the grinder took forever, left unclean cuts, and didn't always go straight. I'm pretty happy with it I suppose. Looks better than the one I made for the black car for under the bumper.

Ordered a new AEM UEGO wideband today for it, have a set of 37# injectors (a bit big I think but the price was right). Gonna install next weekend with my SAFC and try running on e85 and see how it goes. Can always switch back.

Wideband and SAFC are installed, gonna play with it a bit on gasoline before I switch to e85.

Thanks, it is just about finished, don't plan on doing much more to it. It runs great but I may have found a coolant leak on back corner of engine where the head/block bolt together. Gonna check it out in a bit here to see. Looks like it'd be headgasket, which would piss me off since I just put this engine together. It looks like a small leak, maybe it's coming from overflow bottle.

It's not leaking that I can tell, it had a small amount on the engine but it's right below the overflow fill-up. Oil is clean, coolant is clean. Neither fluid is low.

I'm not gonna spend much more money on it, maybe just pick up the set of Slipstreams my buddy has with brand new tires and fix the dings on the body etc. We're looking to buy a house so cars gotta take a back seat now. I have a black coupe (plus my ACR) that's gonna be my drag car(s) so those will eventually have the go-fast goodies I have stocked up and this will be my DD.

Well I guess I can't just leave something alone. Decided to post up a WTB to see if anybody that bought MegaSquirt decided they didn't want to install it, and offered my SAFC and Mopar PCM as a straight trade. Shipping my SAFC and PCM to Puerto Rico and then will be getting a Super 420a MS packed with goodies in return.

Technically I'm not spending more money, as the SAFC came in a car that I made plenty of money on parting out, and the Mopar PCM came in a car I'll make money on when I sell it, so overall the MS is less than free.

Still thinking there is an issue with cylinder 1, where I found the coolant leak near. It misfires for several seconds upon every startup from that cylinder until I rev it a few times. Thinking coolant is seeping into that cylinder, will look when it stops raining. Good thing a HG job will only take like an hour with no timing belt cover and no accessories :)

Guess I was just paranoid, no head gasket leak. Hopefully MS shows up real fast, looking at laptops on ebay too. Doubt it'll be ready on MS by Sunday's race, but I'll race anyways.

Also bought an AF/X header and picking up a 2.5" dynomax system next week. Guess I couldn't leave it alone.

Took it to the track yesterday, got about a dozen passes in. Best pass (first pass of day, it was like 50 degrees out):

r/t: .246 (damn I was rusty)
60': 2.151 (street tires)
330': 6.141
1/8: 9.434 @ 75.46 mph
1000': 12.259
1/4: 14.665 @ 93.83

That was the only time I hit 14's. The rest of my runs were 15.11 to 15.3. Only explanation I can think of was that it warmed up, alot. After my first pass, a Sentra that came with us had a coolant nipple break off and sprayed coolant most of the way down the track. So we sat for over an hour and it warmed up a good 15 degrees.

Got lots of new shit going on.

New exhaust, AF/X header, 2.5" Dynomax exhaust with a cutout from Summit.

Image

Kirk is on bottom, took that off. AFX is on top, it's going in.

Also, ordered KYB GR2's from ebay, and new mounts and insulators for the springs, should be here Tuesday.

Got new Prothane control arm bushings and sway bar end links coming in the mail from Modern, should be here Wednesday. Got new horizontal bolts for the LCA's so I can cut the old fuckers out if I get pissed. New Prothane motor mount inserts as well.

Mopar PCM from the ACR I just got is going in as well. I'll for sure stay in the 14's next weekend, that is if I get the car together lol. Not looking forward to control arm bushings but the steering wheel shimmy gets old.

Can't wait to drive it when that's done!

Did those injectors work out? How much fuel did you have to pull if you used them?

Sounds great so far! :D

Haven't installed the injectors yet, sent the Mopar PCM and SAFC to a guy in Puerto Rico in exchange for a super420a megasquirt and once he got my shit, he magically stopped answering my PM's. Screwed over some other people on the .org too so we'll see what happens there.

Track times were on regular unleaded, stock pcm, 24# injectors.

Got exhaust installed today. It fit with some "massaging" of the floor pan under driver's seat. Also welded exhaust dump at a slight angle down and away from floor pan, and then welded the flex pipe on pointing back towards rear of car to straighten it back out. worked out pretty good.

AFX header, dump, flex pipe, 2.5" dynomax exhaust.

Still up on jackstands waiting for rear struts. None of the damn struts would come apart to get the springs out, had to weld the strut shaft to the housing to keep it from spinning. Will get pics on ground soon but it fits up there real nice.

Also installed new struts, poly control arm bushings, poly sway bar end links, poly motor mount inserts, passenger tie rod end, and Mopar PCM. We'll see what it runs tomorrow, hoping for low 14's. :)
