Simplification of spec neon rules

I'm going to break down the spec neon rules so that they are a little easyer to understand. Any other info can be found at www.specneon.com

1.) Any 95-99 neon can be used
2.) Any factory avaliable 1gn engine can be used
3.) The 3.55 or 3.94 trans can be used
4.) Your car must be marked with a "SN" on both sides
5.)Min weight for a SOHC is 2450. Min weight for a DOHC is 2500
6.) The following engine mods are pirmitted
Ballincing and/or blueprinting
0.40 overbore using a factory or equivlant piston
Any piston ring
Port matching
Rasing compression 1/2 point
Stock timing gears
OEM or Mopar Performace computer
Polyurithane motor mounts
Any intake infront of the OEM throttle body
OEM exhaust manifold may be ported
Any exhaust system
Fastners, gaskets, and belts are unrstircted
Underdrive pullys may be used
Any spark plugs and igintion wires
7.) Fuel system
CCR approved fuel cell may be used
Any fuel pump and lines may be used
Adjustable fuel pressure regulators may be used
8.) Oiling system
Any wet sump oiling system can be used
Pumps, Pans, Baffles, Valve Covers, ect are unresticted
9.) Transmission
Any clutch disc and pressure plate providing they bolt to the stock flywheel
Any LSD or welded diff may be used
10.) Suspension
The spec suspension is as follows and must be used in whole
Struts: Any factory avaliable strut (Koni, airvon, stock chrysler)
Hubs: Factory ACR hubs are required
Knuckles: Chrysler P-body knuckles may be used
Bushings: Mopar performance or enegry suspension may be used
Springs: Mopar High rates
Sway Bars: 22 MM max all around
Allignment: Unrestricted
Sway bar brackets: Any
Steering: Manual or power
11.) Wheel and tire
Any 14x6 OEM chrysler neon wheel
Toyo RA-1 205-55-14
12.) Brakes
Any pads and lines
Brake ducts may be added
ABS must be disabled
Brake proportioning devices may be used
13.) Body
Must appear stock
No lightweight parts allowed
Any mirrors
Any colors
All badges except "DODGE" and "NEON" can be removed
Hood pins are allowed
14.) Interior
Must use a competition bucke seat
May add any gages you see fit
Any steering wheel
Any shifter and knob
A/C can be removed
Passanger seats can be removed
Airbags must be removed
A cage meeting NASA standards must be installed

I would love to get into something like this someday if I ever have the money. It has been a dream my whole life to road race.

All badges except "DODGE" and "NEON" can be removed
Looks like my rt could not compete because it doesnt read neon any where on it.
98 r/t: 2.0L=3 spun rod bearings. Starting 2.4L build with srt internals.
14.5@98mph 5psi
srt turbo, stock intercooler, stock downpipe, mpx pulley, 2.5" catback, maddog sts.

That's why its outdated. They make you take out the airbags so that if you bump another car on track the air bag wont go off and blind you possiably causing you to hit the wall or another car much harder.

Since the class is cancled you dont have to have the badges to run in PTE. Unless you are building a dedicated race car dont worry about it.
