Neon Vs Ford Thunderbird

Post by NeonTuning » Wed Jan 02, 2008 10:20 am

I smoked a ford thunderbird.

I don't have any idea what kind of engine, all I know is, we were going over the roundabout, and going straight.

2 lanes, me on the left behind him, the ford in front of me passing another car on the right lane. (ford had 2 peep in car, I was alone).

He started hitting the throttle when comming off the round about, I saw a little smoke comming from the back of the car so I knew he was hitting the throttle.

I was still in 2nd gear, and I put the pedal to the metal!

I was comming up behind him, when in the end of 3rd gear I was so close he had to go to the right lane, I passed him, shifted to 4th gear, doing about a 160 KM/H when I released the throttle, this guy in the end was doing way over 180 cuz I could feel the car shake a bit when he came by.

At the end of this road we both hunkt and went our own way.

Does anyone know what kind of engine is in this Ford Thunderbird??

What year was it (approximatively) ?
Was it the TC or SC a plain-jane T-Bird ?

Such cars are a rare sight in Europe, pity you couldn't get a pic.

It should be that car then :

I drove one in Canada once and was unimpressed as it handled like a land yacht, brakes were like Jell-O and the power was tepid at best.

how do you know it wasn't a 6cyl. The 4.6L motor that was in the thunderbird is the same motor that was in the Mustang GT's..
this is all you need to know..bored out, high compression, big cam, aviation fuel....bus lengths.

the 4.6 in the T bird is just detuned because its an old mans car... it is capable of alot more like in the stang GT the same motor is 300HP
