well if it is like the SS the kid rolls around here id say you'd be safe untill he swapped his 19's for some smaller rims. (yes the dumbass has 19" big fugly chrome rims on it)

He's a bit heavier then you. I dont know about SOHC, since ive never owned one, but I raced an atx n/a SS and won, but since it was atx, he was obviously slower. i dont know anything about the mtx.

my friends n/a ss mtx puts down like 155-160 whp stock which beats even a bolt on 2.0 dohc

with a mtx they probably put down 150-155 whp against a mtx sohc with CAI probably makes like 110-115 whp, and the peak torque for the sohc comes way before the torque for a 2.4L Dohc,
it would cool if the neon won but the driver of the cobalt has to be a bad driver to lose

My Neon has MAX 150 HP (wich is prob just 140 or so) and I beated a BMW 325 2,5 L 192 HP with CAI, and exhaust (about 210 HP if I may believe that guy)

I smoked him @ 400m.

VR6... stock 174 HP, most of them here have 180/220 HP, and most of them are about as fast as my Neon.

I honestly don't know why, but HP is not everything, that is what I have learned here..

So the Neon driver could just as easyly win as the SS driver. IMHO that is.....

HP is nice, but over 400m torque and gear ratios are very important too.

Our Neons have "big" engines for Europe and are relatively light compared to Jettas and E36/E39 BMW's. Self-gloss : got mine down to 1050.3 kg ! Yay !

ya HP aint everything.Just take a neon 3spd vs. 5 spd.Same HP 3 spd's alot slower because of the gearing and whatnot.Shit at the 1/4 mile the scion tc only had my by 2 and a half/3 car lengths at most and from a 10/15 roll I wouldve been closer cause iI slip on the launch. We did a 70 roll up to about 105 and he didn't even have a full car length on me.

- Right now im pushing just a lil over 300 HP, thinking about upgrading turbo charger and putting a 6spd tranny in - LMFAO

- Only took 4 transmissions to make me relize I need to take it easy cause its just a neon -

but I'm not talking about atx vs. mtx I'm talking about manual vs. manual, thats why it comes to the driver, The driver of the cobalt has to make a mistake to lose
