Thompson drag raceway, Ohio, 1400' elevation (comes out to 14.84 at sea level)
Opening day, they were in a hurry and didn't even clean up the track. It was pretty awful, tire tread full of the year's previous rubber. Pretty meh track in general.
SOHC/3.55 trans
af/x-r pcm
TTI race UDP
Dynomax catback
3.0l air intake
52mm tb
Slightly reduced injector humps in the intake manifold
General tire amerit*re 185/65/14s
About 2400lbs with driver, full looking interior, removed spare/jack/wheel covers, no ps/ac
Red hood added for the quickness
Later that year I put in a 3.94/mag longblock, I wish I stuck with the regular sohc, I would have gone places!

Factory exhaust manifold/cat. (LEV) Yes.
I'm not sure if the first gen sohcs that were LEV recieved the lower comp pistons, but if they did, my old one had them.
I listed everything I had done. If I didn't list it, it was OEM and unmodified. Well, I didn't list all the weight reduction, but the weight is close (weighed at rockingham dragway's scales 3 months after).
I was shifting way too high as well, at the 7800 limiter, should have probably been more like 7400 for first, 7000 rpm for second, or whatever I figured it out to on excell for maximum torque.

Went 14.899 at Tristate dragway with a similar setup in the fall of 03. The car was gutted, but didn't have the af/x race. Dunny was there, one race was even against his srt4. He has a vid of it. Me deadlifting the car in the staging lanes ftw!Skill wrote:you ran low 15s with just that setup? I'm pretty impressed, not bad. I would figure with those mods you'd run higher then that.
I'm only pictured at the start, where I get outlaunched bad and at the end after I cross the finish.
EDIT: I also dropped the dynomax muffler for that 14.899 I believe. It's been 3.5 years and I did drop the muff for at least one run.

You must be talking about one of these runs (the middle one on the vid)?fusion210 wrote:Went 14.899 at Tristate dragway with a similar setup in the fall of 03.
