New or used tires ?

Post by uta_flyinghigh » Thu Mar 27, 2008 3:39 am

As the title says. I'm having traction problems and I'm running tires that are around 50% worn. Should I slap new tires on a couple of days before the start of the season ?

You should burn the crap out of the ones on it... then put new ones on. Remember, new is always better then used.

That depends on the new tires. New tires (of the same brand/type) will have just a little less traction due to the tread depth. If the old tires are dried out, they will provide less traction though. If available, BFG, or Nitto drag radials are good choices.

BFG's are as readily available here than Mickey D's hamburgers (meaning not)
