It's possible you were told you did 80 mph on a 1/8 mile track. It's extremely unlikely you actually were doing 80 mph. I consistently pull 2.0 sec. 60' times and have run a best of 14.50 in the 1/4 mile. My best 1/8th mph is 77.26. From your description my car is lighter and has more power, and can put the power down to the pavement. When knowledgeable people have trouble accepting your unsubstantiated claims, you can only vindicate yourself with hard evidence, ie. timeslips. Until you produce actual proof, the :bs2: will fly.

P.S. Jeff's been racing longer than you've been alive.

hey TomZ what mods do you have? maybe if you list yours i can get a feel of where i am at if your close you know. and i always have respect for my elders i mean sh!t if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be making more power there wouldn't be drag racing but i wouldn't just call bs without ever seeing the car run or ever seeing the driver drive

Still calling BS, I was trapping 78 when I had the 2.4L in and was gutted. 14.4's all day and 2.1 60' times.

Again, find a real track and get some times.

You need an actual time slip to prove to YOURSELF what it will run. You don't have to share the results but then you will know, Nearly stock engine 1st Gens have run 13s but they were very very light.

My first pass at a drag strip was in the mid 80s. I was probably 20 at the time.
You know me

No interior, passenger seat, seatbelts other than driver's, crash bar, front or rear bumper steel, sound deadener, or cat. 31" glasspack straight out the driver's side, LTH, windshield washer resevoir removed, no spealers, no stereo, no AC, no PS. Dash is still installed, but the glove box and plate under the steering column were removed. Front MM weight removed. I just bought a pneumatic nibbler and cutoff wheel, which made removing the hood bracing fairly easy. I left enough bracing to still use the stock hood hinges, but the latch and associated hardware are gone. The hood pins are detracting from the sleeper look. The rear package shelf and trunk bracing are next. I probably forgot a few things that have been removed, lol. Mods are in the garage section. I'm also running BFG drag radials. I also have a 3.94 FD transaxle, the 3.55 sucks for N/A 60' times.

Go to a dragstrip, and post up timeslips. Otherwise, this is not believable.

Kthx.
