possible wiring issue?
possible wiring issue?
ok, i just bought a new cd player and speakers and wired everything up and the weirdest thing happened. At first the 6x9's in the back seemed to be working properly until i turned the volume up about 3/4 of the way then the sound disappeared and i haven't been able to get it back. Then i couldn't get sound out of neither of the front 6.5". Just to make sure that the speakers worked i hooked them up to my surround sound and they all work perfectly. Is it possible that the factory wiring for the speakers could have a short in it or something along those lines?

Did you check your wiring/connections on the head unit to the factory harness?

Did you install the headunit using a wiring kit? I hope so, I personally hate it when people are cheap and just cut the oem harness's off ond wire up the headunit that way.
Double check ALL your connections!
I once had this happen to me with one of my front speakers not working. Traced it down to a wire that pulled out of the wire connector I used (crimp style). I try to solder all wires together now.

whoa, kinda forgot about this thread...my bad. Well it turned out that one of the front 6.5"'s had a bad connection between where the wire enters the speaker, and the little mount deal that they had for you to connect your speaker wire to. Fixed that, and they turned out to not sound so great and i got rid of them.
