I might have missed it, but have you decided to make this for other people?

that adapter in the picture would be damn near impossible for me to make for sale by hand, and make it worth my while. that piece took a long time to make. granted it was the first one ever, so subsequent ones would be a little quicker. but it would still take an unreasonable amount of time.

however, i did have a lot of interest when i posted this up on srtforums, neons.org and 2gn. nitehawk (srt-4store on 2gn) convinced me to try and sell a bunch of them. we created a different style that would be easier for me to mass produce. then when push came to shove and we made the announcement that i was ready to make a lot of them there were a total of 2 people that wanted one. so the project got scraped.

pardon the crappy pics, but this is what version 2 looked like. this was the only one that was being promoted. i never made any attempt to promote the one on my car.

I didn't make any adapter, I just cut down the shifter and threaded it to 3/8-16, and I was done...

how were you able to do that?

the shifter rod is ~.573" or do you have an aftermarket shifter?

so you ground the end down to get to about 3/8 and then put a die over it?

I had to cut the top down 2.5"(not necessary, but I wasn't comfortable with the height), and change the angle 30 degrees because the grips I'm using are angled like the original Hurst pistol grips. Then I ground a slight taper in the end of the shaft and tapped it down to 3/8-16. I couldn't just grind it down then tap, because I needed to be sure it was centered, and not having a lathe, this was the best possible option.
