what brake pads should I get?

Post by 99indiana » Mon Oct 11, 2010 8:48 am

my problem...

my 95 has drilled and slotted rotors on it and I don't know what pads to use for replacements.
I was told that ceramic pads will glaze the rotors, and was also told that ceramic is the way to go.

any suggestions?
thanks

Hawk HP pads are a great alternitive to running the "cheapo" Autozone pads(yes they have a LLT Warranty).

That's right lol I've had mine a year now, they still look brand new. They stop my car just fine.

i used the duralast on mine with the vented rotots, they wear out, you get others. rotors look fine after about five years so far.
It's not the fall that hurts, it's the sudden stop at the bottom!

Ceramic pads are the best, doesn't matter what brand they usually always have a lifetime warranty on them.

So do Duralast. But, you are right - Ceramic is better.

You can get ceramic in duralast, I did front and rear on my blazer, they are a little more exspensive but do carry the lifetime warranty and also don't put out near as much brake dust.
