Post by charger440neon2.0l » Sat Feb 09, 2008 4:33 am

A pt cruiser with a 24 mm front anti-sway bar came into the junk yard today. I plan on grabbing it tommarrow I was wondering if it fit a 1gn? I know it fits the 2nd gen neon

I'm a step ahead of you. The 2G/PT sway bars are wider than the 1G in both the front and rear. You will have to use a 2G k-frame as well, which do not have bobble strut brackets. So what do you do? You make one or buy one from www.polybushings.com and use a shadow/daytona bobble strut. The solid neon bobble strut is slightly wider than the early dodge cars, or you can get some thick washers in there. The 2G k-frame will bolt up, and that is of course a few inches wider than the 1G. That is my plan anyway.

The k-frame? The k-frame on a PT is slightly different than a neon. It has two lower mounting points, along with the same four the neon has. You want the k-frame or the 24mm front sway bar? There is only one at the yard, last time I was there.

Let's put it another way. Let's imagine that someone would rent a PT Cruiser and that someone would wish to remove the aforementioned items, how long would that take ?

LOL! About 15 minutes. You still need a 2G k-frame, and a bobble strut bracket.
