I've heard that putting some PS fluid in and looping the lines if anything keeps the rack lubed and free free from dirt or debris, I don't know if you would feel a difference though.

I just took mine out a few days ago. Sure it sucks trying to park but it should be much easier to do timing belts and water pumps without the pump in the way, less clutter in the engine bay. But you should loop the lines, just to save the rack from any contamination from the elements.

Just loop them that's goign through to much trouble. Plus i wouldn't put grease on there. There still will be PS fluid in the lines after removal. The grease will more then likelly plug it up.

Yes you have to loop them together. you run the risk of freezing up(worst case) the entire rack. Imagine how much that would suck at 45 trying to turn your car. OR faster

? Why don't you track down a salvage yard manual rack? Or see if the dealers still carry them and do it right?

Sports come with the "quick" rack too so looping the lines is fine to do.
