HELP!!!

i just bought a 5 speed 95 4dr neon and it needed a head gasket so i put a new headgasket in and took it for a spin. car started to overheat, clutch pedal went dead and car died. now it will start and drive but will not fully grab a gear, like i can accelerate but rpms sky rocket and clutch pedal still goes kinda dead. i changed thermostat and it still overheats too. wtf do i do?

I remember reading about a similar problems on the .org Ill check it out and see if I can find that thread again.

1 you need a new clutch

2 remove your thermostat, if that helps with your overheating then you need a new one, if not then you need a new waterpump

you check for a air bubble in the cooling system? the 95 i just did had the same problem and ended up just a air pocket
