cause i have the 14 so im biased
and ive also heard the 400 doesnt have as much up top as the 14.
I figured that was the case being biased and all
, but yeah if I remember correctly the 400 tops off at 5300rpms . where as the 14 keeps going.
I was planning on using the 400 to avoid installing a safc , and more or less just keep it a bit more streetable. But for the same money it seems retarded to limit myself.

well im kind of in a rush now the speed shop put a curve ball on me there dyno day and rent the track day is comeing up and i want to be there and seens im shy of cash rite now im not going to order a size 14 or a long tube header
i ported my stock manfold out and smothed the inside of it all out and did a cat delete on the down pipe for it and i got a 95 cam
i hope to have the head done porting it and to the shop tomorro to get milled .030
this winter im going to put this head on a 2.4 with some goodyes

cool. yeah i'd have to agree w/ mike on the cam selection, although it seems you grabbed a 95
.
Last time i had mine on the dyno the hp was going up sharply when the fuel cut on the mpp dohc cut in, iirc jeff ball went up to 8800 to max it out? or was it 188fwhp at like 8300...i cant remember.
Also adding to mikes, i believe my runners on the modified mag intake are around 7.5 or 8", measured em a while ago. My prob is too much plenum, 4" is yeah...excessive heh.

My sohc had has a comp 400 and the thing pulls hard to the mopar dohc pcm rev limit. I see lots of people knocking them and not many trying them. I have it apart right now getting hte head P & P and a valve job. Also going to put in 10.5:1 pistons on eagle rods to go along with the nitrous kit I put in it. I am going to get some dynos for everyone with the comp 400 to see how well it really does.

let me know how that dohc bottom end goes for ya. i had a topic on the org about putting dohc pistons in my soch block for my daily driver (not my turbo) and i had half of the ppl sayin it gives u like 10 hp cause of the added compression, and then i had like half telling me im gonna blow shit up cause of the piston rings cracking along hte inside of the cylinder wall, turned into this huge battle. But they did all agree that if i was gonna do that, id hafta file down the egdes on the dohc pistons. i decided to jus shave hte .02 since .04 is like the max, that should give me sum ooomph. cant wait to hear about it!

this winter if money comes like i planned, Im upgrading to the Crane #14. i see alot of users happy with it.
my Winter 2008 SOHC parts list will include:
Crane #14
Kirk LT

Jeep TB
SAFC
Mopar DOHC PCM
Accel 19lb injectors
Adj. FPR(already have it)
and a good tune of course
Im sure she'll wake up with these goodies. Im looking to hit about 145-150fwhp. Im sure it will get there too.
