There's not too many people who have ventured into nitrous with a similar setup to yours, so good answers are going to be hard to come by. You need to be very careful with nitrous and high compression, especially if you're using a PCM with advanced timing. If you have crane 26's, you really need a stand-alone anyway.

Those cams are not exactly optimal for nitrous. Lots of overlap isn't the key to nitrous performance. You can minimize the overlap with adjustable cam gears, but this will hurt performance when off the bottle.

Keep it safe and run it with race fuel and retard ignition timing. Good luck.

did you do forged internals? that will limit what you do to. a stock neon can handel 50 continuesly with a travel in to 75 or a hundred every now and then.... forged internals and a good tune you could do 100 or better. but like the post said maybe ms and race fuel is in your future...

When you get into big ass cams like 26's, MS is almost required to even run it. Have you started this engine yet?

Timing isn't the problem, its fuel that is difficult to control. You will need to try an SAFC at the minimum. If that doesn't work, you will need to use a stand-alone like MS.

With big cams, you wont have much vacuum at idle. The PCM sees this as a high load, and dumps a bunch of fuel to compensate. This is why mass-airflow systems usually work better than speed-density with big cams.

With an SAFC, you can effectively "clamp" the MAP voltage at idle so the PCM does not read a high pressure signal from the sensor.

last year i ran a 75 wet shot all year long and ran 12.70's with a single cam automatic with 12.5 je pistons. kinda scared to go any higher... stock engine will take a dry 100 shot.... but not very many times. it will melt the rings to the pistons not that i would know from experience..... haha

Plus with those 26s in a 2.0 and a stock computer youre going to find that rev limiter REAL quick. Your powerband is going to be way higher than what any regular computer will let you do. Youre going to have to get MS regardless, its a hell of a lot easier to get it tuned with that than with an ECU and a piggyback. Might even end up saving a tiny bit of money.

As for how much nitrous... I think with the 12.5:1 youre not going to have as big of a tuning window as you would with a 10.5 motor. Id say start with a 75 and work up from there, keep on eye on your wideband with every change you do. And as said earlier, race gas (hope you dont have a cat), and retard the timing, which MS can do also. But I think your ceiling with the nitrous is going to be about 150-175hp with that kind of compression. Any higher and youre going to be pulling way too much timing and start losing some of that power that youre trying to gain.
