Intercooler question
Intercooler question
Does anyone know any good links for intercooler piping sizes? Im trying to figure out what size I should use when I get my srt turbo on the car. At first I was thinking 2.5 inch for both hot side and cold side but I remember reading something about using smaller pipeing on the cold side helps. So now Im thinking 2 inch hotside and 2.5-3 inch coldside. I will probably be running the turbo from 4-8psi on a stock 2.0L block.
98 r/t: 2.0L=3 spun rod bearings. Starting 2.4L build with srt internals.
14.5@98mph 5psi
srt turbo, stock intercooler, stock downpipe, mpx pulley, 2.5" catback, maddog sts.

Smaller on cold side because as the hot air cools, it becomes more dense and less volume, smaller piping keeps pressure up.
