car wont start after gauge cluster fix

Just what it says... I resolder a few joints on my gauge cluster to get the speed indicator to work.. now my car will not even crank.. !!!

whats wrong?

hah yeah junior I did..

The fuel pump kicks on, all lights come on as normal..battery termials are on and tight...starter power wire is tight...ground wire as far as I can tell is good.. fuses are all good..

You should look elsewhere than the cluster for your problem, since both my 95 and 96 parts car would drive fine with the instrument cluster out of the car. Does the "s" wire on the starter get power when you crank the key? Are you atx or mtx? Did you take the column apart for anything? I'm kinda guessing it may be a neutral safety switch. or clutch switch.

ok just looked you have an atx. so its possible you may need to adjust the switch. you can take it out of park and hold the key in the start position and move the shifter around and see if it cranks at any other gear.

found out what it was.. the wires had been pushed out of the harness of the neutral safety switch by my CAI filter... that should have been one of the first things I looked for.. oh well at least I found out what it was..
