Adding a glasspack to my exhaust??

Adding a glasspack to my exhaust??

Post by FlowmasterNeon » Thu Jul 05, 2012 9:03 pm

Hey guys, as of right now I have stock piping except for a Flowmaster 40 series muffler on the end. I've gotten stopped by the police a few times for it being too loud and want to do something about it. Since there is a straight piece of exhaust in the middle section of the car, couldn't I just cut that out and put a glasspack in?

My question is what would adding a glasspack to my exhaust like that do to the sound with the Flowmaster still on the end? Make it quieter, make it drone, or make it deeper?

Thanks for your input!

adding a glass pack may not be your answer. a resonator may be what you need.
It's not the fall that hurts, it's the sudden stop at the bottom!

Wouldn't that quiet it down a lot? Do you think the glasspack would make it deeper sounding though?

Do a glasspack. Difference between a glasspack and a resonator? Not much. Mostly the overall length.

the res wont really make a raspy sound like a glass pack would at higher rpm.

Difference? Overall length ;) Infact, a resonator will probably produce more of a rasp due to the less sound deadening that it provides.

a glasspack used with a flowmaster, the glasspack will become a resonator.
